Who We Are

SeattleFWC26 is the local organizing committee for Seattle’s participation as one of the 16 host cities selected for the FIFA World Cup 26™ (FWC26).

Our vision is to foster a lasting legacy for our region, guided by the spirit of soccer, innovation, and inclusion.

Values

As a not-for-profit organization, SeattleFWC26 is working to deliver a safe, sustainable, and accessible FWC that meets our region’s values.

Soccer culture and passion

Seattle and the Puget Sound region have one of the highest rates of soccer participation– from participatory leagues to fan communities– in the nation. We are a city, region, and state that knows the game, plays the game, and loves the game.

Inclusive and memorable FWC

Inclusive and memorable FWC: Seattle and Washington State value diversity and celebrate the many cultures and communities that make this a special place to live. We are designing a FWC26 experience that is rooted not only in the values we share– reflected in the 6 Legacy Pillars that drive our work– but in how we will present the games with an inclusive, celebratory energy that captures our spirit and creates lasting memories.

Our Six Legacy Pillars

Accessibility

By increasing linguistic, physical, and sensory accessibility, we will ensure soccer and FIFA World Cup experiences are more accessible across WA.

Human Rights

We are delivering a FIFA World Cup experience and legacy that promotes safety and inclusion, values and advances workers’ rights, and provides access to remedy if problems arise.

Sustainability

By promoting zero waste and zero emission strategies, we are cementing Seattle’s reputation as the greenest city in the United States. We will succeed by leveraging Lumen Field’s environmental expertise and incorporating Indigenous guidance.

Children

We are inspiring a generation of Washington children to play, understand, and love soccer; to believe they belong in callings and professions of consequence; and to carry with them a core belief and indelible memory that large and diverse groups of people can overcome differences to unify, celebrate, and share joy.

Community

We will exemplify what a mega event can be by working with and benefiting local communities who will be most affected.

Culture

We are showcasing Washington’s rich and diverse peoples, arts, history, and heritage for the world so that new visitors and life-long residents deepen their understanding of why our welcoming and inclusive culture makes us stronger.
